The college has received affiliation under 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC Act in the year 2000. In the year 2004 the college was assessed by the National Academic Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade B.

Six faculties of the college have UGC MRP Grants. Three of them have already submitted their research projects. One faculty of our college is currently the Ph.D. Research Guide who is duly permitted by Gauhati University. Three faculties of our college have already been awarded Ph. D. Degree by different Universities of India. Three faculties have completed their M. Phil. programmes from different Universities. Two faculties of our college have received fellowship from the Indo-American Centre for International Studies (IACIS), Hyderabad and translation grant from Sahitya Academy and National Book Trust of India. Faculties have a good number of research papers as mark of their academic excellence.
