Chilarai College is the only college in the district to have opened a film club, Pramathesh Ch. Barua Film Club dedicated to viewing of good film, organizing symposium and discussion on film and film personalities, developing a library on film studies and introducing students to the world cinema. Film is fast becoming a part of curriculum in humanities in the country. Chilarai College has the vision to open Film Studies Course and Mass Communication in near future, the club would try to develop some basic infrastructure through its activities. Current affairs forum is a special interest club dedicated to develop leadership qualities of our students through debate competition, panel discussion on current topics, guest lectures on current issues etc. Interested students may contact for membership and other information with the Forum Co-ordinator, Dr. Bharat Bhusan Mohanty, Head, Dept. of English.

To promote literary talents and creativity of the students the college has a Literary Forum. The forum published annual journal among other activities. Chilarai College has a special unit dedicated to drama studies and performance. The Society organizes drama workshops, drama performances and the like. Dr. D.N. Bhakat, Head, Dept. of Assamese, is the Co-ordinator of the society.

The College is to start an Art & Hobby Centre for students where students will be imparting certificate courses on Painting, Sculpture, Soft Toy Making, Doll Making etc. Students can contact to the office for details.
